Goodwin College: Connecticut River Academy – Advanced Manufacturing Annex

East Hartford, Connecticut

Goodwin College has completed construction of a Manufacturing Annex building to train students in advanced manufacturing skills that are currently in demand by Connecticut employers. Freeman Companies provided Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Geotechnical Engineering, Land Survey, Traffic Engineering and Environmental Services to the Prime Architect. 


The site design involved positioning the annex building on axis with the main college building, while capitalizing on interconnecting drives between isolated campus buildings and siting a large Veteran’s Fallen Star Memorial Sculpture in the student drop-off area – that doubles as a ceremonial plaza space with use of brick paving.
