Senior Civil Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer within the areas of land development, site design, storm water management, and erosion and sediment control design for immediate hire. We seek individuals to grow with the company and provide strong leadership and continuous improvement processes.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required, PE preferred
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation preferred
- Familiarity with CT Drainage Manual, DEEP Water Quality Manual, and CT Guidelines for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control
- Excellent technical, organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
Land Surveyor
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys, as well as supporting a variety of public and private development projects throughout Connecticut and the region. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineers, planners, architects, and construction professionals on a wide range of exciting projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience (field and office)
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Connecticut preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey software (e.g., Trimble Business Center)
- Strong understanding of GPS, Total Station, and data collection equipment
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, boundary documentation, and zoning regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer
We are seeking an entry level geotechnical engineer. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer interested in building a strong foundation in geotechnical engineering. We seek individuals who are eager to grow with the company, contribute to multidisciplinary project teams, and support continuous improvement efforts. Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Up to five years of relevant experience
- Work closely and maintain constant communication with other engineering and design disciplines within Freeman Companies, as well as outside consultants
- Support field activities including monitoring and logging subsurface explorations
- Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations under the direction of senior staff
- Assist with the preparation of boring logs, technical memoranda, and geotechnical reports
- Support construction and geotechnical monitoring projects as needed
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Civil engineers with a strong interest in geotechnical engineering are encouraged to apply
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail
