Black Rock Business District Streetscape Improvements

Freeman Companies was recently awarded this project to improve the streetscape along the Black Rock Business District corridor of Fairfield Avenue. The project is divided into two gateway areas: the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Brewster Street and the Fairfield Avenue bridge as it crosses the Ash Creek. Improvements are designed to decrease blight and attract new private investments and business. Freeman Companies is responsible for streetscape design and details as well as survey, environmental assessment and evaluation. Streetscape design will include traffic calming, placemaking, art, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, lighting, planting, pavement design and green infrastructure.
