The South Hartford Conveyance and Storage Tunnel (SHCST) project, led by the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC), aims to reduce sewage overflows into local waterways and improve regional water quality. Freeman supported this critical infrastructure effort by providing comprehensive services including land surveying, geotechnical engineering, utility coordination, and 3D base mapping. The team conducted geotechnical peer reviews, subsurface exploration, utility relocation planning, and GIS database management. Additionally, Freeman developed detailed Civil 3D AutoCAD basemaps covering more than 9,000 linear feet of combined sewer overflow (CSO) conduits, contributing to MDC’s broader initiative for a cleaner, more resilient water system.
