Brookfield, Connecticut

2017 – Present

Project Owner/Client: Town of Brookfield

Project Cost: $3 Million

The Brookfield Streetscape project is a multi-phase initiative to revitalize the Town Center District through improved pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular connectivity. In Phase 2, completed in 2019, Freeman designed new sidewalks, bike paths, stormwater infrastructure, street trees, and utility relocations along Route 202.

Building on its success, Freeman continued to lead conceptual planning and engineering for Phases 3 and 4, which added sidewalks, bike paths, decorative lighting, crosswalks, and streetscape elements. Phase 3, focused on Laurel Hill Road and Old Route 7, also included bus shelters, a pocket park, and driveway enhancements. Funded through state grants and town contributions, the project reflects Brookfield’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and community-centered design.
